Kekoldi Waterfall Hike
Just 5 minutes from the center of Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, you can move from the beach to the tropical rainforest, as easy as literally crossing the Street, doing this you will enter the Kekoldi indigenous territory.
We offer you secure parking from where we will begin to walk, and with the simple fact of crossing the main street and moving a few meters, we begin to dive into the forest, first by crossing cacaotales, then we continue to pass about three humble huts of indigenous families. In the depth of the forest we’ll see abundant species of timber trees, some with more than 200 years of safeguarding these territories, many species of plants and shrubs identified with healing properties, a wide variety of trees, plants and palms such as chonta and suita that provide materials for the construction of the traditional Bribri house.
Following our path we continue in the forest until we approach our great surprise, for this we descend a bit to the KEKOLDI river, when we arrive there we will walk a little upwards, until we encounter an imposing 45 meters high waterfall with a really vertical waterfall. Here we will enjoy a good time, swimming and appreciating the forest at this majestic place.
After enjoying and delighting in this paradisiacal place we have to return while enjoying the wonderful forest full of life, with abundant wildlife.
